• Happy Halloween 2012
  • Since Ethan is a big boy now, we asked him what he wanted to be for Halloween. Without hesitation, Ethan said “Ladybug”. We were a bit surprised so we asked the next day and the next day and the next day and the answer was the same. So ladybug it is. Then came the hard process of finding a ladybug costume for a 3.5 year old boy that didn’t have a dress or tutus.

We finally found a costume and Ethan made the pre-holiday rounds (Moses and Talia’s Halloween Cookie Decoration Party, playgroup, school, etc.) dressed up as a ladybug.

Fast forward to today, October 31, 2012, and it’s a cold rainy Halloween night in San Francisco. Ethan is not feeling well and a bit grouchy and he is refusing to wear his costume or even go outside. After letting him cool down a bit and using some basic bribing (“Do you want to go to the Yogurt Shop?”) Ethan agrees to go, but no lady bug costume. So we threw on some clothes and, to our surprise, realized that they looked even more ridiculous then a ladybug costume. Yes, as part of his regular wardrobe, Ethan has striped socks, striped pants and a super “E” shirt complete with a built in cape.

    Happy Halloween!
